We water-chill our chickens, and no harmful chemicals are used during the water-chill process. Water chilling decreases the temperature of the chicken faster to reduce the risk of food-borne pathogens. At Farmer Focus, we are committed to finding solutions that are best for our farmers, birds, and the planet. We have an interdepartmental team dedicated to this, and they have not found a significant difference between air and water chill processing in any of these areas. Until we do, we are not committed to one processing style but continue to learn and explore new solutions to raise the bar in the organic chicken industry.
