About the farmers…
Jess and John Gulatsi are the proud owners of JR Farms, a name created by combining their own. As first-generation farmers, they’re excited to raise their three boys on the farm and build a legacy rooted in hard work, family, and good food.
When they began exploring poultry farming, they knew they wanted to partner with an integrator aligned with their farming values. They were excited to find Farmer Focus and appreciated its commitment to partnering with poultry farmers who allow their chickens to be chickens; including access to sunlight, the outdoors, and play through the use of enrichments. They also value the transparency Farmer Focus offers and the opportunity for shoppers to “meet their farmer.” This commitment not only highlights something that Jess and John value but also allows others to understand the ‘Why’ behind their operation.
In their short time farming, Jess and John have learned so much about the connection between food and health. They’re proud to provide high-quality food not only for their own family, but also for the families who purchase their chicken.
When they’re not caring for their birds, the Gulatsis enjoy spending time outdoors as a family. While the farm currently raises only chickens, they’re excited to add a garden, bees, and other livestock in the future.
If there’s one message they want consumers to know, it’s this: every bird they raise is deeply loved and well cared for. Jess and John are intentional about raising happy, healthy chickens that go on to nourish families, helping to create a lasting legacy of health and wellness.
