About the farmer…
Eric Ritchie is a second-generation farmer and the proud owner of Great Gardens Farm, LLC. The chicken houses on the farm were built by his father, who taught Eric much of what he knows about farming. Growing up on the farm taught Eric a lot. He says, “You’ve got to be brave to be a farmer and not be scared to take a chance.” Great Gardens Farm was named by Eric’s mother after the greenhouses on the farm. Eric is excited to work with Farmer Focus because of the support he receives. He says, “You feel like somebody and not just a number.” His favorite thing to do on the farm is drive the tractor. If Eric could tell consumers one thing, it would be that they are purchasing a healthy bird that was raised with great attention to detail and care.
